Romans 13 focuses on the believer’s relationship to governing authorities and the importance of love as the fulfillment of the Law. Paul instructs Christians to submit to government authorities because they are established by God to maintain order and justice. He emphasizes that resisting authority is ultimately resisting God’s ordinance. The chapter concludes with a call to live honorably, loving others sincerely, and to be awake and prepared, as salvation is near.
