1 Peter 5
Humility isn’t about thinking less of yourself—it’s about recognizing your limits and trusting God beyond them. In 1 Peter 5, we’re invited to bring our worries, pressures, and burdens to God—not because we’re weak, but because we were never meant to carry it all. True humility says, “I’ll be faithful with what You’ve given me, Lord, and I’ll leave the rest in Your hands.” It's doing your part with diligence and then surrendering control with confidence.
Life gets heavy when we try to manage outcomes we were never meant to control. God calls us to live with open hands—faithfully walking in obedience, and fully trusting in His care. You can let go, not because everything is guaranteed to go your way, but because your Father holds it all and loves you deeply.
Prayer:
Father, I humble myself before You today. Help me to be faithful in what You’ve called me to do and to release everything else into Your hands. Teach me to cast my cares on You and to trust that You care for me. I surrender control and rest in Your strength. Amen.
Reflection Questions:
1. What burden or outcome are you trying to control that you need to release to God today?
2. How can you practice humility by faithfully doing your part and trusting God with the rest?
3. What does casting your cares on God look like in your daily life—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually?
