đź“– Background

Paul continues explaining why he delayed his visit—he wanted to avoid causing more sorrow to the Corinthians. He speaks from a place of love and emotional vulnerability, encouraging the church to forgive and comfort a repentant believer who had previously caused pain. Paul also reminds them of the seriousness of forgiveness, warning against giving Satan a foothold through unforgiveness. He closes the chapter with a beautiful metaphor of believers as the “aroma of Christ” spreading the knowledge of Jesus everywhere.
